Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council condemns the violence and disorder that have occurred in parts of the country and calls for unity in the borough.
Cllr Chris Watkins, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, and Chief Executive, Tom Shardlow, said:
“Nuneaton and Bedworth has a diverse and integrated community, which is something we are really proud of.
“This kind of intimidating behaviour is not welcome on our streets, and the Council will be working closely with the police and other agencies to ensure we are doing all we can to protect our community.
“There will be a heightened police presence in the borough, which we hope will offer reassurance to businesses and individuals.
“Violence and disorder of any kind will not be tolerated, any outbreaks will be dealt with swiftly, and offenders will be arrested, charged, publicly identified, and shared widely.”
