As part of the summer programme of events and to celebrate World Bamboo Day, (18 September), Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is delighted to announce Imagine Bamboo Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Imagine Bamboo artists, designers, engineers, crafters, and communities will come together to explore the potential of UK-grown bamboo at an event in Riversley Park, Nuneaton, on Saturday, 14 September, from 12pm until 5pm.

This is a free, fun, creative, family-friendly event where participants can use UK-grown bamboo to make their own bamboo models and admire impressive artworks made by Nuneaton and Bedworth artists.

The day will include bamboo-commissioned artworks, No Fit State Circus performances with bamboo, bamboo model making, and bamboo circus workshops.

Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities, and Health, said:

“We are extremely proud to have been supporting Imagine Bamboo Nuneaton and Bedworth since the beginning of this project when it was held at Miners’ Welfare Park in July 2023.

“Local people and national and international artists have taken part in the preparation for this event over the past nine months.

“There will be plenty for visitors to see and do as this very exciting project comes to the borough.

“Riversley Park will be brimming with creativity and promoting environmental sustainability at a community level.”

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council, Artichoke, and Imagineer have been supported by an Arts Council England Place Partnership Award to develop key projects through The Creative Explorers Project.

This has allowed local artists and residents to work with national and international artists, companies, and businesses.
