Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is pleased to announce the completion of a 20-year lease for Bedworth Civic Hall.
The Bedworth Civic Hall Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) finalised the lease today (18 September) which authorises them to be the new operators of the venue.
This follows a lengthy consultation period to find a suitable operator and action taken by the Council to ensure an efficient and viable takeover.
Careful negotiations have taken place between the Council and the CIO over several months, including a rent-free grace period which allowed the CIO to secure funding and utilise the building to conduct vital pre-opening works.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health said:
“I am delighted to see the Civic Hall lease officially completed.
“Well done to everyone at the Council for their perseverance and dedication in ensuring this process has come to a successful end.
“This 20-year agreement now ensures a bright future for an entertainment venue that is much loved by local people.
“I wish the CIO every success and look forward to seeing how they lead this venue forward.”
The CIO have already staged several shows at the venue, with more in the pipeline including, the Funhouse Comedy Club, Bublé by Candlelight feat. Josh Hindle, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
