This weekend is the last chance for visitors to Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery to see a highly acclaimed exhibition.
Endangered and Extinct: ‘Reincarnated Rubbish’ by creative recycling artist Val Hunt has run since July at the Riversley Park building.
The display by the Coventry artist has been incredibly popular with visitors, with the words “Wow” and “Stunning” being used.
The show raises awareness of the animals and plants we have either already lost or stand to lose from our world with intricate pieces created from all manner of recycled materials.
This bumper exhibition includes more than 90 pieces of work and ranges from the terrifying Tyrannosaurus Rex to the humble bumblebee.
This is a real wow exhibition, bright and colourful with a serious message. Younger visitors can colour in pictures inspired by Val’s work.
Alongside Val’s recreations of the natural world are other items, including jewellery, which can be purchased from the show.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:
“There are some really amazing pieces in this exhibition, and it's wonderful that they have been produced from recycled rubbish, and even more poignant considering the subject matter - Endangered and Extinct.
“Do drop into the museum this weekend as this colourful exhibition will appeal to all ages.’’
As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
