New flooring is currently being installed in the Picture Gallery at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery.
Funding for the museum improvements came from the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
The existing carpet at the Riversley Park building is being replaced after more than 17 years’ use.
This means that the Picture Gallery will be unavailable until Monday, 21 October, to enable the work to take place.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:
“It is great that we have been able to invest UKSPF funds to improve this well-loved and well-used building.
“We would like to thank visitors for their understanding while the Picture Gallery is temporarily closed.
“This is essential work and will lead to a far better visitor experience when it is completed.’’
There are several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building. As always, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed.
