Nuneaton and Bedworth Ramblers’ wellbeing walks have a new walk at Ensors Pool starting on Monday, 4 November.
The walk, which gets under way at 10:30am, lasts for an hour and will take place on the first Monday of every month by fully qualified walk leader Sue Tonks.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:
“I'm really passionate about wellbeing walks. Walking is so good for our physical and mental health and a great way of meeting people too, so I'm really pleased that we have a new one starting in the borough.
"We are also in the process of setting one up in Keresley End, and this should start in the new year.
“The walks are free to attend and open to anyone, regardless of ability. They are designed to help people improve their health, wellbeing, and happiness, and we hope to see a good turnout on 4 November and for subsequent walks.
“Ensors Pool is a protected, hidden gem nestled in the heart of Nuneaton. This tranquil area is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of busy life, offering a peaceful oasis for visitors to relax and unwind while walking in the natural surroundings.’’
The pool sits in a nature reserve of 3.8 hectares and is home to a variety of wildlife and birds that ramblers may encounter.
The walk is around half a mile, with options to make it longer by walking multiple loops. There is very little gradient with fairly even and flat paths throughout making it suitable for all to enjoy.
