Museum picture of an eye

Join us on Saturday 18 January for ‘Portraits’.

As the new year begins, it is a time for self-reflection and resolutions. What better way to help us explore this, than taking a closer look at some of the portraits in our collection.

This is your chance to gaze into the eyes of our miniatures by May B Lee as well as some of our sculptures by John Letts.

Our ‘Hands on History’ events represent a unique opportunity to handle some of the wonderful artefacts from the Museum’s collections.

The sessions are free and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime between 11.00am and 3.15pm in the Picture Galley.

Councillor Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health said:

“The Museum’s handling sessions enable visitors to feel the excitement of real history in their hands!”

While at the Museum why not check out our temporary exhibitions?

You still have time to see ‘A Lifetime of Art’ by local artist Melvyn Gunn which showcases a variety of works through different mediums such as watercolours, photography, computer aided designs and collage.

‘Convoy’ by Alisha Miller explores Nuneaton’s innovative industries, it’s workforces and industrial landscapes. ‘Portrait of a Town - GRIT’ brings together for the first time portraits of local people that were created as one of GRIT’s project strands.

For opening hours, visit the Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery webpage.
