Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Community Safety Teams have been awarded an accreditation for their delivery of a high quality ASB service.

The accreditation was awarded through ‘Resolve ASB’, a non-profit organisation that leads the way in all major relevant legislation and policy developments.

The organisation helps people involved in the ASB housing sector to deal with ASB positively and help empower communities.

The Resolve Standard is a new national standard that allows organisations to continue to adapt their approach so that every tenant feels safe and happy in their home and part of a strong community.

To meet the Resolve ASB standard, the Council’s ASB & Community Safety Team had to evidence they met the organisation’s six principles, which include:

  • Victims & Communities
  • Partnership
  • Performance
  • Professional Development
  • Challenge & Change
  • Leadership, Culture and Resources

Each Principle is underpinned by several commitments, which break down how organisations can demonstrate that they reach the Resolve Standard of good practice, which remains in place for three years.

The award followed feedback from an audit of our processes and interviews regarding the Council’s ASB service which involved Council residents and partners such as Warwickshire Police.

Councillor Chris Watkins, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Portfolio holder for Housing said:

“This is fantastic news, we are committed as a Council on providing the very best service to our customers and ensuring the safety of our residents.

“We are already working through recommendations made from our ASB consultation last year in order to ensure the service meets expectations, and are delighted that this award solidifies our efforts to strengthen our service in this area.”

A spokesperson on behalf of Resolve ASB added:

Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council ASB and Community Safety Teams offer a high quality ASB service.

“They recognise the importance of making communities safer by ensuring appropriate resources are in place to support all victims of ASB”.

This accreditation supports NBBC’s ongoing commitment to improve its ASB service.

The Council’s ASB Team consulted on its Anti-Social Behaviour Policy and Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy in November 2024. Since that time the team has reviewed the feedback and are working through the recommendations made to improve and strengthen the service it provides.
