Work is set to get under way to repair two steel columns at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton.
Contractors have this week started on works at Pingles Leisure Centre with internal mating protection of the leisure water pool tank and at the area where steel work will take place.
Specialist steel contractors will start the work at the Avenue Road building at the beginning of May.
After this, equipment will then be returned to the health and fitness suite so it can reopen as soon as possible.
Following the propping works, an ultrasound test will be undertaken to confirm the exact remedial works required on the steel columns and a time scale will then be agreed to complete all the steel works.
While the pool is closed, painting of all the steel works will be undertaken in this area, following remedial works.
When all work is completed, the whole area will have a high-level clean, and the leisure water pool will be refilled and water treated to allow access again.
Kevin Hollis, Strategic Director for Public Services, said:
“Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Everyone Active would like to thank centre users and borough residents for their patience during this time.’’
