The Gadsby Grabbers clean up Riversley Park, Nuneaton

A community litter pick in Nuneaton’s Riversley Park proved to be a huge success, helping to make the green space look a lot brighter.

More than 20 members of the Gadsby Grabbers joined forces with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s Environmental Enforcement Officer to partake in the pick.

Many of the Grabbers are part of the Longhurst Group, a group who help to support young adults with a range of disabilities.

The pick marks the fourth that the council and Longhurst Group have worked together on.

Cllr Rob Roze, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Enforcement and Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health said:

“Many congratulations to everyone who took part in this litter pick.

“Riversley Park is very well used, and the tremendous work by the grabbers has made it look a great deal brighter for visitors.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people not to drop their litter, please use the waste bins provided or take it home. This will help all residents enjoy the Park throughout the summer months’’
