The legal document, or writ, confirming Thursday, 4 July’s General Election has been received and electors wanting to cast their votes have several important dates to remember.
They are:
- Registration deadline - Tuesday, 18 June
- Postal vote - 5:00pm, Wednesday, 19 June
- Proxy applications - 5:00pm, Wednesday, 26 June
- Voter Authority Certificate - 5:00pm, Wednesday, 26 June
Tom Shardlow, Returning Officer for Nuneaton, said:
“We would like to remind everyone who intends to vote on Thursday, 4 July to make sure they have completed all of the necessary steps to be able to do so.
“While there may seem to be plenty of time left, please don’t leave it until the last minute to ensure you can cast your vote.
“Also we would like to remind voter that this is the first General Election when they will need to bring valid ID to the polling station.’’
