The reviews are in, and they are great! Visitors to Wiv Luv Larry, our tribute to Larry Grayson, have said what a brilliant tribute the exhibition is to this fondly remembered local comedian.
Almost 9,000 people have visited since it opened on 30 March.
The show has already been extended once but now must end this Saturday, 13 July.
So, if you have not yet made it to the museum yet to see this show, this is your last chance.
You can learn about his life in Larry’s own words with the display featuring letters he wrote to superfan Pauline as well as numerous images and ephemera collected by Margaret Kane.
The exhibition also includes his big red book from This is Your Life as well as many rarely seen private photographs on loan from his nephew Mike Malyon.
The exhibition includes a dress by Larry, a bow tie, and interactive and colouring sheets, that celebrate his always dapper appearance.
Councillor Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Communities and Health, said:
“If you haven’t made it to this exhibition yet, this is your final chance.
“It is fascinating reading Larry’s letters to one of his biggest fans and gaining that personal insight into his life.”
As with all the shows, admission is free, though donations are always welcomed, and there are also several temporary exhibitions to enjoy throughout the building.
