  • Tenant information documents - Tenants must be given the Government’s ‘How to rent’ guide when they start their tenancy along with the Energy Performance Certificate, Electrical Safety Certificate (EICR) and the annual Gas Safety Certificate
  • Deposit Protection Scheme guidance - You must place your tenants deposit in a tenancy deposit protection scheme if you rent out your home on an assured shorthold tenancy that started after 6 April 2007. You must place your tenants deposit in a government-authorised tenancy deposit scheme within 30 days of receiving the deposit and the prescribed information must also be given to the tenant within 30 days of the deposit being protected
