Make a nomination for a civic honour

Residents can have their say on who should be put forward for Civic Honours with the Council looking to reward those in the community who truly make a difference.
A Civic Honour is the highest award a local authority can give to a citizen of the borough.
The scheme is open to all, but in the spirit of the award, seeks to recognise those that have made a special or unique contribution to Nuneaton and Bedworth borough or its citizens.
Before you start
We will need some information from you to start the process, including full details of the:
- Person proposing the nominee
- Seconder for the nominee
- Nominee
- Reason for nomination

The proposer and seconder must be different, and cannot nominate themselves for an award.
Who is eligible
- Nominations are open to all members of the public
Validating nominations
- Before accepting the nomination, we will validate the nomination as a genuine submission. This may involve contacting the nominator, seconder, nominee, or more general research
- Nominees will be contacted prior to submission to the Civic Awards Committee to ensure that they are happy to be nominated and considered for an award
Selecting award receipients
- All validated nominations will be considered by the Civic Honours Sub-Committee. The final decision on recommendations will be taken by Cabinet and ratified at Full Council
- Presentations to deserving nominations will take place towards the end of the Mayoral Year, each April
